Yes. Stain (solid, semi-transparent, or natural) is often the right call for decks because it lets the wood breathe and is easier to refresh later. We'll talk through the trade-offs at the estimate.

We'll flag it and let you know if it's something the crew can patch, or if it needs to be replaced before paint goes on. Painting over rot is a short-term fix that always comes back worse.
